Can I take my own car to The Black House?

No Sorry, The Black House is situated on the beach in a car free area. No exceptions to this rule!

How do I get my luggage to The Black House?

The Land Train at Hengistbury Head provide a Land Rover Service to take you and your luggage to the House on your arrival & departure day.  

This is included in your holiday cost but must be booked in advance on 01202 425517 or email -  hengistburylandtrain@bournemouth.gov.uk 

They operate - high season 10am-5pm, mid season 10am-4pm, low season 10am-3pm

What time can I arrive?

Arrival time is 3pm & departure time is 10am during peak season however we can be a little more flexible on times during off peak for long weekend stays.

Do you provide bedding & towels?

We provide all bedding and 1 bath towel & 1 hand towel per guest. Please bring your own beach towels.

When does the ferry from Mudeford Quay run?

The ferry goes to & from the Quay to the beach all day every day during summer months (weather permitting)

The times can be seen on www.mudefordferry.co.uk

During winter months it only runs on Saturday & Sunday

When does the Land Train run?

The Land Train runs every day of the year except Xmas day. Operating times are usually 10am to 5pm in summer holidays, 10am to 4pm mid season and 10am to 3pm low season

Where shall I park?

Parking is in the public pay & display carpark at Hengistbury Head for the Land Train/Land Rover or in the public pay & display car park on Mudeford Quay for the ferry. The best way to pay is using the Ringo system on your phone with a credit card. Using this you can pay for a whole week & don't need to keep going back to your car or finding change for the machine.
